Madison + Bubbles

As some of you know, I wear many different “hats”, as most professional woman do these days. But my most favorite “hat” to wear is being a “Step Mom” to my sweet (most of the time) lil Madison.;)Sid and I are not “legally” married so I guess she isn’t “legally” my stepdaughter, but that doesn’t matter in the least to me. Sidney and Madison are the two loves of my life. I love her so much just as if she was my very own. I never had been in a relationship with someone with children, but I sure have been missing out before these two came into my life. I am so grateful and appreciative to have them love me as much as I love them. The last 3 years of watching her change and grow into quite the little lady, has been such the adventure. As I’m typing this right now, she is sitting in my lap, looking at her “pretty pictures” and wants to go outside and blow more bubbles. Sometimes she is up for a shoot, and sometimes she is not. I think when she grows up she will think of me and a camera as one. However she thinks of me when she is older, I hope she knows how much I love her and that I have enjoyed all the times, like these, that I spend with her. I also hope that she enjoys all of the images that I have taken of her throughout her life. I’m basically documenting her childhood and one day her adulthood, so who wouldn’t like that?

Well, a 4 1/2 year old sometimes doesn’t like it. I sometimes get the HAND in my camera with a sassy attitude to boot.;)

But with that being said, she now wants to go outside and have me shoot some more “pretty pictures” of her.

She also likes to say “Action” each time she hears the shutter go off. Well… I guess I need to take this opportunity while I can……

“ACTION!”

After The Wedding + Post Processing

I know some of you must wonder why it takes a while to receive your images.  Some of you even wonder why I don’t have the images ready after the wedding itself or even the very next day .  I could go ahead and give them to you but I prefer to spend a little extra time with your images. Any of the images you see on my website are generally enhanced in their own unique and special way. I take a good image and then I turn it into something, that I feel, is “Extraordinary”.

So I thought I’d share with you all a little of what I do to give your images that extra special “Snap”.

You definitely have to have a good foundation to work with, but once I take the image out of camera and load them into my iMac studio I have special tools I use to enhance each image or to make it ” Come To Life”. There are several different tools and actions that I play with to enhance the final image. On top of all the enhancements I also do full touch ups/ airbrushing on all the print orders and photos that that I use in your custom albums.  If you have an image that you would like for me to touch up/or enhance, I will do that for you as well, for a special price.

It does take a lot of time to sort through all of the images after a shoot, as well as post processing each image but nothing leaves my studio until I’ve taken those extra steps to make your images “Picture Perfect”.

Anyway, I just wanted to share with you some of what I actually do after your wedding/shoot and show you before & after images.

Here are three examples….

NEW Proof Site, Finally!

This is an important email for my past and future clients, yes you… hopefully since you are reading this!

For those of you who have been my clients this year, and prior, you already know that I have switched your Proof Page aka Image Gallery more than just a few times. I apologize for any inconvenience but I just wanted everything to be perfect, professional, easy to navigate, and for you as well as myself, to not be bombarded with unnecessary emails from the companies hosting the proof site. I found a site through another wedding photographer, an actual “Top 25 in the US Wedding Photographers” who I have befriended and he has given me some extremely invaluable advice. This site is one of his suggestions and it is NEXTPROOF. Please go ahead and register or preregister (for new clients) with your email information. The ONLY emails you will receive will be from myself alone. I will send out the occasional “discount codes” or “specials” when offered. I will also leave your images for viewing for at least a year from your wedding day, portrait session, etc and possibly longer.

I think this site showcases my work in a much better light and images are much clearer and closer to the real ones that I see on my computer and in the final print. Yes, I’m a perfectionist and I just had to keep searching until I got it right. I think I did. FINALLY! Thank you Benjamin!

So do not freak out if there aren’t any images in your gallery as of yet. They are being uploaded and will most likely be finished by the end of the weekend. It takes time people! I can only upload so much at each session.;)I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

Once you view your images in your gallery (Proof Page) please let me know what you think, any suggestions or comments are most appreciated.

I thank you for choosing me as your photographer and I sincerely have enjoyed meeting and working with each and everyone of you. I do hope that you consider me again, for any future work. I also give discounts for any referrals as well.

Have a great week and enjoy the new Proof Page!

I promise they ( your images) will stay put this time. I would hate to confuse your Grandmother more than Ive confused myself with changing sites so many times.;)

All My Best,

Micha

Art + Jenn

Let me tell you how great the people from Georgia really are. For one, the love of my life is from Georgia and I guess I should have known being a good ol southern girl from Texas myself that any southerner is worth my time. When I first got the call from Debbie, Jenn’s Mom, she told me she was calling from Georgia. A small little town called Waycross. I of course ask Sid immediately where is Waycross in relation to Lincolnton (where is is from) and he told me. I just LOVE Georgia and all that its about.  Funny me just  thought the people from Texas were friendly. Debbie was so sweet and kind, it was like talking to an old friend I hadn’t seen in a long while. She was just a doll and we sealed the deal pretty much right on the spot. It didn’t stop there… we keep chatting through emails and getting to know each other and our families better. She sent me pictures of Jenn and Art and her other daughter Rebecca. She also told me that she married her one and only love and they just celebrated their 30 year anniversary. I of course got to see their wedding pictures as well. Debbie is just good people. I have always been warned to be wary of the Mother of the Bride. Ive even been told to make sure to put into the contract that I’m “only supposed to speak with the bride and groom” about photos. I guess Ive been lucky to NOT have any MomZilla’s so far. I even went without a contract, just our word was good enough for me. “That’s how us southerners like to do it at times, our word is all that we are”. With that being said, when I finally met up with the bride and groom, they too were an amazing couple. Good genes! And soooo much fun! We took so many pictures doing “odd things” just to see what would turn out. I had a blast shooting their wedding day but we were missing something. A Sunset Shot. The house that they were staying at was on the oceanside and as you can see from the pictures some amazing scenery. But living in the Keys a Sunset Shot (Bayside) is a MUST. So Sid and I told the couple we could drive across the street to my friend Kathy’s hotel Coconut Palm Inn (a great place for small weddings) and asked her if we could take a few sunset pictures. Now the sun was going down and going fast… we had 9 minutes. Rush Rush into the car we went. Change batteries, fix  my flash, change lens and ok, READY. We get there with just a few minutes to spare and Kathy of course was more than accommodating. Then the most fabulous sunset (ok I really have never seen a bad sunset) was right in front of us. I could tell that Art and Jenn were so happy that we suggested this to them AND made it happen with just minutes to spare! As you can tell by the pictures it WAS amazing and they were just gorgeous together. So another great wedding, another beautiful sunset, and another grateful couple. Its my job and its what I do. “Do whatever is necessary.” (Sid’s Dad, Noel’s favorite saying)  I seriously LOVE making people smile! It was a great day and a great wedding, with great people!  Oh and I can not forget, when we returned to the house with the Bride and Groom, Debbie invited us to sit down with them and have dinner. They treated us like family with pure southern hospitality. It’s couples /families like this, that I look forward to meeting and it really makes  my job that more enjoyable.

I truly am lucky to being able to meet and work with the couples that I have had so far, to be able to share their special day and to capture memories for them that will last a lifetime.

Thank you Jenn, Art, and a special thank you to Debbie, the greatest Mother of the Bride Ever!

Russ + Kristin

Talk about an amazing couple! Russ and Kristin were a blast to work with! He is a cop and she is a nurse and they played their parts so well. Aside from raining ALL DAY and the wind factor being close to hurricane weather, (ok…not that MUCH) I got a call that the venue had been changed while ON MY WAY there. No problem, I’m very flexible and did whatever was needed to get the images you see here. It was a very small and quick wedding but even in the bad weather conditions, underneath a Tiny Tiki, it was still such a pleasure to shoot and was still a beautiful ceremony. Russ and Kristin are a wonderful couple, gorgeous to photograph, and LOTS of FUN! Hope to get to work with them both very soon!
